Crazy dough is one dough that you can make so many different pieces of sweet and savoury bread. You can use this dough to make pizza, naan bread, and even cinnamon rolls. Start by mixing wet ingredients in a jug, pour in some lukewarm milk, and ensure it is warm to help the yeast grow. Add some sugar to the dry yeast and whisk them together until the yeast has dissolved, then set that aside. Add some yoghurt and an egg in a separate bowl, then whisk them together until well combined. If you don’t eat eggs, you can leave them out and add a little more milk.

Add flour in a bowl, salt for flavour, and baking powder for the dry ingredients. Then, take a whisk and shimmy them together. Start combing the wet and dry ingredients to make the dough, add the yeast mix to the dry ingredients, and then follow that with the yoghurt. Bring all the dough together using a spatula or a wooden spoon; if the dough is still dry, add a little milk to wet the extra flour.

Likewise, if your dough is too sticky, add a little flour to make it stiffer. You do not need a stand mixer or abread machine to make this dough. Once the dough is formed, cover it with a cling wrap and then tightly cover the top of the bowl; you don’t want any air to get in there.

Cover it with a clean tea towel to provide warmth and help the dough rise. Set that aside and let it be proof for at least two hours. Once the dough has doubled or tripled, it is ready for use. If you don’t want to use it immediately, you can pop it in the fridge for up to three days.
