This homemade hamburger recipe makes the best hamburger buns you will ever eat, they are soft, pillowy and perfect for burgers. To begin put your flour into a bowl. Put milk in a bowl and add your instant yeast and mix it in and set aside to proof it. To the flour add in your shortening and use your fingertips to blend it well in the flour.

Then add salt and sugar to the flour and keep on mixing with your fingertips. Then add your yeast blend to the flour mixture and add the milk slowly as you mix with a wooden spoon. Then use your hands to knead the mixture for a few minutes then transfer the dough to the counter. Knead the dough on your counter for 3 to 5 minutes until the dough is not sticky anymore. Once done put some shortening in your hand and knead the dough for some time to soften and smoothen the dough.

Cut the dough into smaller pieces using either a knife or a scrape. Take a little bit of your shortening or butter and make them into circles by rolling them on the counter into a round-shaped. Once done put the buns on top of a baking sheet that is lined with aluminum foil and parchment paper. Take one piece at a time and press it down and stretch it out to the size you want. Do the same for the rest. Once done brush them with water using a pastry brush to help crisp the top of the buns.

Then put season blend on top of the buns. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the buns. Press the seed down to blend with the dough. Put them in the oven at 0 degrees with the light on so that they can rise. Give them 25 to 45 minutes to rise. Bake them in a 375 degrees oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. When they are 5 minutes to finishing baking, brush them slightly with water over top. Once they are done remove them from the oven and butter them up using the butter or oil. Let them cool down before you slice into them.
