One bite of this decadent, soft, and fluffy Butter Cake, and your mouth will start watering. It’s delightfully sweet and will melt in your mouth. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit then grease and line your round cake pans with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl add three cups of all-purpose flour together with three-quarters teaspoons of baking powder, half a teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of salt.
Please give it a whisk and set it aside. Into the bowl of a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl, add one cup of room temparature unsalted butter then cream or just for a minute until the texture is nice. Add two cups of sugar to the butter then beat it in on medium speed until light and fluffy.
While your butter is mixed, break 4 eggs in a small bowl and add the egg one at a time and beat well after each addition until well mixed in. Mix until everything comes together smoothly and beautifully. Measure one cup of milk and set it aside. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture alternating with the milk in three batches, starting with the flour and ending with the flour. Make sure you scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl when mixing the ingredients.
Mix until it’s almost combined and lightly finish the mixing with a spatula. Divide the batter into the two prepared cake pans then pop the pans into the prepared oven for 60 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool and serve the cake. You can prepare a simple butter syrup for your cake.
Measure 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter and place over a pan on medium heat along with a quarter cup of water. Add a three-quarters cup of granulated sugar and add to the butter-water mixture, stir the mixture until it melts, this will take about 2 minutes. Once it starts to thicken, remove it from the heat and add one and a half teaspoons of vanilla extract.
Stir it in then pour the butter syrup over the cakes and let it soak for 15 minutes. After about 10 minutes, remove the cake from the pans onto a serving plate, slice and serve. This is a decadent, delicious cake. Enjoy…
