This dish will have a special place in your table because it is so good and one of the recipes that you need to prepare this week for dinner to your family. To get started you will need a bowl full of flan steak that you cut into very thin pieces. To cut the flank steak, you will get the whole flan steak about a pound and a half and when you are cutting your steak, make sure you cut it against the grain if you cut it along the grain it is going to dry out when cooking so keep that in mind.

Also, make sure you slice your steak as thinly as possible, the thinner the better. Once you have sliced you steak, place the strips into a large bowl and season it with salt and pepper and to give this dish an extra flavour, you can add Italian seasoning then add corn starch and toss everything together. Make sure you mix everything very well you do what your seasoning to sit on one side you want the flavour to get everywhere.

Once you have everything mixed together, set the meat aside and start preparing the sauce that makes this dish. In a medium-sized bowl, you will add some hoisin sauce and into that add soy sauce, beef broth and brown sugar then go ahead and mix the sauce very well then set it aside for later. Place a pan over medium-high heat and pour some vegetable oil and let it get very hot then you are going to sear the flank steak. Since you will be cooking the steak pon medium-high heat you want to keep an eye to make sure the meat does not burn.

Sear the steak on three minutes in each side, it might take longer so just look for a nice golden brown colour. Also, make sure you do not overcrowd your pan because if you do the steak will cook rather than sear. Once you have all your steak nice and fried you are going to set them aside for later. Reduce the heat to medium and add more oil to the pan if needed then toss in some finely diced onions and cook them until they get caramelized, this will take about five minutes.

Caramelizing the onions will add really good flavour then add some minced garlic, ginger and pepper flakes then cook that for around 30 seconds until the garlic starts to get fragrant then you are going to toss in the seared meat. Top some green onions and toss everything together then cook for an extra 30 seconds.

Once everything has cooked together, add the sauce that you made earlier then toss everything together. Let that cook for about a minute and remove it from the heat. This is what you need for the lockdown, very simple to make. Serve it with white rice and make sure your rice is already cooked by the time this Mongolian beef is ready. Enjoy.
