Oreo Cookie Cupcakes

First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your cupcake pan with paper liners. Place a whole Oreo cookie at the bottom of each liner—this will be your crunchy base for the cupcakes. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Next, beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each is well blended before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Make the frosting: While the cupcakes cool, make the frosting. In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

Gradually add the powdered sugar, a little at a time, while continuing to beat. Add the vanilla extract and keep mixing until smooth. Gently fold in the crushed Oreos to give the frosting a crunchy, sweet texture. Once the cupcakes are cool, spread or pipe the Oreo frosting on top. For an extra touch, break up additional Oreos and sprinkle them over each cupcake for a fun and tasty decoration.

  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • ½ cup (115g) butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 12 crushed Oreo cookies (for the batter)
  • 12 additional Oreo cookies (for topping)

Frosting:

  • ½ cup (115g) butter, softened
  • 1¾ cups (220g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 crushed Oreo cookies (for mixing into the frosting)
