This milk bread does not require a mixer, the bread is easily prepared by hand and you only need a few ingredients. Bread one egg into a mixing bowl and add two tablespoons of sugar, milk and a teaspoon of yeast then mix well for the egg to dissolve in the mixture. Add two cups of bread flour/ wheat flour and half a teaspoon of salt and mix into a dough using a spatula.

When the dough starts to come together, switch from the spatula and start kneading the dough by hand until smooth. Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take the dough out onto a working surface and spread it then add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

Wrap the butter into the dough and knead the butter into the dough, do this by pulling the dough then folding it and pulling it again until the dough is smooth. Round the dough and place it in an oiled bowl, cover and let it proof for 60 minutes. After an hour, take the dough onto a working surface and deflate it then cut it into 12 to 16 pieces depending on how big or small you want your buns to be. Deflate the small dough and knead it then round it into a ball.

Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes then flatten the dough with a rolling pin and fold it and make it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and place each of them in a parchment-lined baking pan then cover them and let them rise for 40 to 60 minutes. Once chilled, brush the top with egg wash and bake in a preheated 355F/180C oven for 18 minutes.

Let them warm up once they are out of the oven and enjoy them.
