If you need a simple dessert recipe without turning on the oven then try this no-bake layered cake. It has a layer of graham crackers topped with whipped cream then melted chocolate. You can use a food processor or blender to grind up the graham crackers. Or do it the old-school way and crush them in a zipped top bag with a rolling pin.

Mix the crushed graham crackers with 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 5 Tablespoons of melted butter. Once the crust is ready, place it in a springform pan and you could use your fingers or a measuring cup to press and level it in the pan. For the whipped cream, begin by putting cup cold heavy whipping cream mixing bowl.

Start beating the cream at high speed then pour 2 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup and1/2 teaspoon vanilla or other flavourings or liquors and whisk together on high speed for about a minute until stiff peaks form.  For the melted chocolate ganache, make sure your chocolate is in small, uniform pieces. You will need about 8 ounces of chocolate chips. heat the chocolate in 30-second bursts and stir between each.

For the first burst or two, stirring will feel arbitrary, but by the third, you see plainly that the edges of the bowl are melting faster than the centre and distributing their heat will melt everything more evenly and quickly. To assemble this no-bake cake, place the graham crust in the fridge until the crust is hard and sets in the pan.

Remove from the fridge and pour the whipped cream then top with the chocolate ganache. Once you are done, place it in the fridge to set for another 30 minutes to one hour or until the cake hardens. Remove from the fridge, slice and share with friend and family.
