This bread contains garlic fragrant, it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Start by making the dough, add sugar, salt, and yeast (note that salt will affect the activity of yeast so yeast and salt cannot be put together) and finally crack in an egg. Use a spatula to mix everything together and then add milk to the mixture the amount of milk to be used will depend on the size of the egg you used.

Stir the mixture into noodles and then knead it into the dough. Once the dough is soft, place it in the fridge for 30 minutes, low-temperature relaxation will allow the dough to rest completely and then produce gluten. After 30 minutes, the dough will become slightly bigger, lightly knead the dough on your work surface until it becomes smooth.

You now want to incorporate the butter into the dough, stretch the dough then bring the butter and start kneading the butter into the dough. Kneading the dough at this time will be very slippery as if it is not working hard but continue to knead until it fully absorbs butter, you will knead the dough for about 15 minutes to get it smooth. Place the dough in a clean bowl and cover it with plastic wrap then let it proof for the second time for about an hour.

To prepare the butter garlic sauce, turn on low heat and put butter in the pot, let it melt then add crushed garlic. If you use unsalted butter, add a little salt to the mixture and let the mixture just cook for a few minutes until the butter is fully melted and the garlic is well mixed in. After an hour the dough has risen to twice its size transfer the dough to the work surface and roll the dough into the large rectangular dough with the help of a rolling pin.

Spread the garlic sauce made before evenly on the surface with the help of a spoon then sprinkle some chopped green onion on top. If you want to keep the green colour of the green onion you can add a little baking soda to the onions in advance and mix well.  Cut the dough into any size that you want depending on the size of your pan. You can also make them into rolls and bake them in a tray.

Cover the cut dough with plastic wrap and let it rise again for 30 minutes then brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle some sesame seeds and green onions on top for decoration.

Preheat the oven to 340F (170C)  and bake on the middle rack for 23 minutes. This bread will be golden and crisp on the outside once it is out of the oven. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool before serving. The fragrance of butter and garlic makes this a bread classic and once you start eating it you will not stop. Enjoy.
