This very soft and delicious moist honey cake is something that no one can resist. Start off by mixing the dry ingredients starting with all-purpose four, sugar, baking powder and one teaspoon of baking soda and salt. Mix the ingredients together and set it aside. For the wet ingredients, pour two cups of whole milk in a mixing bowl and add half a cup of condensed milk, oil, butter, vanilla essence and vinegar then mix everything together. Pour the dry ingredienst over the wet ingredienst mixture and mix until well combined. The batter should come together beautifully nice and creamy.

Before baking, preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes and line the cake tin with parchment paper. Pour the batter in the baking tin and bake the cake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius. For the honey cake, you will make a sweet syrup. Add half cup of water in a pan, a quarter cup of sugar, three tablespoons of honey and gently mix until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat and keep the sweet syrup aside.

Once the cake is baes, let it cool and level the top the using a sewer stick, poke holes into the cake then gently start poring te hiney syrup into the cake. The cake will instantly absorb all the syrup. Top the cake with some desiccated coconuts. Let the cake sit for about ten minutes then cut the cake into pieces and serve tit immediately.

Ingredients;

  • All purpose flour – 2 1/2 Cups
  • Sugar – 1/2 Cup
  • Baking Powder – 2 Tsp
  • Baking Soda – 1 Tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 Tsp

Wet Ingredients;

  • Milk – 2 Cups
  • Condensed Milk – 1/2 Cup
  • Refined Oil – 1/2 Cup
  • Melted Butter – 1/4 Cup
  • Vanilla Essence – 1 Tsp
  • Vinegar – 1 1/2 Tsp

To Make Sweet Syrup;

  • Water – 1/2 Cup
  • Sugar – 1/4 Cup
  • Honey – 3 Tbsp

Instructions;

  1. In a bowl, add all the dry ingredients together and mix well
  2. In another bowl, whisk all the wet ingredients together
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients
  4. Whisk everything well
  5. Line a cake tin with parchment paper, add pour the cake batter into it
  6. Preheat the oven at 180C for 15 mins
  7. Bake the cake for about 45 mins
  8. Take the cake out, let it cool down completely on a cooling rack
  9. Take the cake out from the cake tin
  10. Cut the top, edges, and poke holes all over the cake using a wooden stick
  11. Heat a pan with some water, add sugar and let it come to a boil
  12. Once the sugar is dissolved, add honey and mix well
  13. Set it aside till it is warm
  14. Pour the warm sugar and honey syrup all over the cake
  15. Add desiccated coconut all over the cake
  16. Cut the cake into small pieces and serve them.
