These homemade buns are guaranteed to take your burgers to the next level. Brioche differs from your basic yeast bread because it has a lot of butter in it. The incorporated butter makes each bite of brioche so fluffy and melts in your mouth delicious. Start off by warming one cup of milk then add a tablespoon of sugar and two teaspoons of dry active yeast. Give it a stir and set it aside for about 15 minutes or until it becomes frothy.

Add all-purpose flour in a bowl of a stand mixer along with three tablespoons of sugar and two teaspoons of salt then use a spatula to create a well at the center then add the frothy yeast mixture. Also, add in four eggs then using the hook attached begin mixing the dough at low speed then slowly pick the speed to high. Once all the patches of flour disappear add half a cup of softened unsalted butter then continue beating the dough on high speed for about ten minutes until the dough forms its shape.

A good way to know if your dough is done is when it begins to take shape and no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface and finish working on it then place it in a large greased bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap then keep it in a warm place for about an hour or until the dough doubles in size. Once chilled, roll the dough into a log shape and divide it into 8 equal pieces then take each piece of the dough and shape it into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cover the buns and let them proof for 30 to 50 minutes. Meanwhile, combine one egg with a teaspoon of water then brush the egg wash over each bun generously then sprinkle the buns with sesame seeds and bake in a 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.

The burger will taste a lot better with brioche buns especially if they are homemade. You can also eat these buns with melted butter, jam or honey. If making them with burgers, make sure they are completely cooled down before you slice them open.
